1) My goal is to promote BREAKFAST as the most delicious meal of the day. I feel that people in the 7th district and nationwide often overlook the importance of breakfast. Breakfast foods are so good that you can really eat them any time of day (even for dinner). Try eating a dinner food for breakfast. 7am hot dogs?…yuck! I feel that more emphasis should be put on breakfast on a national level. If everyone started the day with a delicious breakfast, then surely all of our other problems could be dealt with in a more rational manner. If elected, I will fight to make Election Day a National Breakfast Awareness Day. Voting is one of the most important privileges we have in the US. You wouldn’t want to make this decision on an empty stomach. I will also fight for benefits for our nation’s farmers – the men and women who help put so many of our beloved breakfast foods on the table.
2) Anyone can have his or her VOICE heard in this country. Whether your passion is breakfast, or something more serious (though breakfast is pretty important), you can have your voice heard in this country. We are all very blessed to live in the United States, a land where if you want to get involved, you don't have to be a spectator. If you feel passionately enough about something, you don't have to be a millionaire to make a difference. This is as much our country as it is anyone elses. Don't be afraid to make it the best it can be.
3) Lately, the financial outlook for our country has been kind of scary. Although times are tough, this doesn’t mean we need to stop being generous to our neighbors or those less fortunate. It also doesn’t mean we have to abandon our hopes and dreams. I’ve met so many great Americans in the last few months that are living the American dream - people who haven’t given up when the odds were stacked against them. Instead of getting scared, they dug in and worked harder and smarter. Let’s not forget the HOPE we have in each other and in this country. When things are the toughest, that's when we show our strength.
